Winnie Lalonde

Opelousas A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, for Mrs. Winnie Ardoin Lalonde. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Landry Cemetery. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service.

Winnie was a resident of Senior Village Nursing Home she passed away on Tuesday February 26, 2013, at the age 86. Winnie was a sweet country girl from Chataignier. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She loved to sew, crochet, play cards and bake. Winnie was a quite and devout woman who began and ended each day in prayer. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her Husband, Mr. Arthur Toby Lalonde of Opelousas, her son, Wayne Lalonde of Opelousas, daughter, Jackie Leger and husband, Ronald of Opelousas, sister, Mary Foret of Ville Platte, her grandchildren Annick Leger Mauroner and husband, Fred of Baton Rouge, Dr. Alyce Leger Marks and husband, Jason of Knoxville, TX., two great grandchildren, Aidan and Ava Mauroner, and one step grand daughter, Christina Tatman.

She was preceded in death by her parents Euge and Azelina Fontenot Ardoin, brothers, Jimmy and Enas Ardoin, sisters, Evelyn Moreau, Ena Fontenot, and Elsie Miller, one grandson, Jonathan Lalonde, and one daughter in law, Jeanette Lalonde.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A rosary service will on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
