Wilson Trahan, Jr.

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas for Mr. Wilson Gabriel Trahan, Jr., known to many as TJune. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas. Rev. Father James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Wilson was a native of Plaisance and longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 66. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, and his friends. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and farming his crops. In his spare time, he would frequently visit the casinos. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marilyn Lavergne Trahan of Opelousas two daughters, Kathy Arnaud and husband, Randy of Arnaudville and Norma Jean Trahan and companion, Dan Courville of New Iberia one sister, Barbara Dekerlegand and husband, Mason of Opelousas five grandchildren, Mindy Nicole Fontenot and husband, Mike of Opelousas Mary Delores Norris of Port Barre Amber Arnaud of Arnaudville Blake Courville of New Iberia and Brianna Courville of New Iberia four greatgrandchildren, Jacolbie Danos, Landon Campbell, Miley Campbell, and Makenzi Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rex Norris, Jr. his parents, Wilson Gabriel Trahan, Sr., and Bernice Quebedeaux and two sisters, Mary Delores Trahan and Norma Jean Trahan.
Pallbearers will be Blake Courville, Dan Courville, Randy Arnaud, Travis Guilbeau, Mike Fontenot, and Onezime Guilbeau. Honorary pallbearers will be Amber Arnaud, Brianna Courville, and Makenzi Fontenot.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, January 13, 2014, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with an all night wake until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. On Monday, a Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the evening in the funeral home.
