Wilson "Smiley" Soileau

Port Barre- A Memorial Mass will be held for Wilson "Smiley" Soileau on Tuesday, 11/30/2021 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr Clint Trahan will celebrate the mass. Rite of committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Wilson, age 100, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Wilson was born in Grand Prairie and raised in Port Barre. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His family and friends called him "Smiley", because he always had a smile on his face.

Wilson is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Soileau of 71 years of Port Barre; 3 sons, Scott Soileau of Port Barre, Errol Soileau of Port Barre, and Mack Soileau & wife Jackie of Alabama; two daughters, Christine Soileau of Opelousas, Justine Harris & Husband Gordon of Virginia; one sister, Bertha Joubert & Husband Sidney Don of Opelousas; Eight Grandchildren, Kirk Soileau, Jennifer Soileau, Janet Soileau, Sarah Soileau Louviere, Matthew Harris, Julie Stern, Hannah Robinson, and Katie Garcia; and Twelve Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Marcie Soileau, and his brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 AM til time of service at 10 AM.  Rosary service will be at 9:30 AM.
