Washington- Funeral services for Mr. Wilman Joseph Stelly will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington with Rev. Chad Bolfa officiating the services.
Wilman passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, in the Opelousas General Health System at the age of 67. He was a native of Waxia and a long-time resident of Washington. He worked in the farming industry for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors while he was fishing, hunting, and taking care of his garden which was his pride and joy. He also loved to drink Old Milwaukee beer and enjoyed spending time with the family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Nancy Richard Stelly of Washington; three sons, Wilman Joseph Stelly, Jr. and Rachel Bordelon of Richard; James Lee Stelly and wife, Allison of Church Point; and Daniel Clement Stelly and Cami LaPoint of Church Point; one daughter, Angela Stelly Mouille and husband, Darrell of Krotz Springs; one brother, Joseph Stelly and wife, Diane of Bunkie; three sisters, René Richard of Opelousas; Georgia Stelly of Arnaudville; and Gloria Taylor of Pecaniere; 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement Stelly and Leah Hollier Stelly; five brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Wilman J. Stelly, Jr., Daniel Clement Stelly, Darrell Mouille, Brian Boudreaux, Darrell Mouille, Jr., and Steven Mouille.
Visiting hours will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Wednesday, the visitation will resume in the funeral home beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
