William Gregory

Opelousas- Funeral services for Mr. William A. Gregory, known to many as "Bill" will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, in the Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Interment will follow in Pruett's Chapel Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas. Rev. Brian Monehan and Rev. Betty Williams will officiate the services.

He was a native of New Albany, Mississippi. He lived most of his life in Aurora, Illinois, and retired in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He has been living in Opelousas, Louisiana, for the past seven years. He died on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home of Arnaudville, LA, at the age of 76. He worked as an engineer in the Plastics industry for many years. He enjoyed antique car restoration. He was a mason with the Jerusalem Temple Lodge #90 of Aurora, Illinois. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherl Gregory Picchioni and partner, Judith Estorge of Opelousas; two brothers, Gerald Gregory and Dorman Gregory, both of New Albany, MS; one sister, Daphine Gregory Bedford of New Albany, MS; two sisters-in-law: Edith Hall of Aurora, Illinios; and Donna Monehan of Natchez, Mississippi; and one grandson, Christopher Picchioni of Windsor, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Formon Gregory; his parents, Lamar Gregory and Florence Hall Gregory; his brothers, Donald Gregory, Hershal Gregory, and Billy Gregory; and one sister, Marilyn Gregory Bailey.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home Chapel of Jonesboro, Arkansas on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. time of services.
