William Gerace

Port Barre-A Mass of Christian Burial for William Anthony Gerace will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Picard as the celebrant.
William was the infant son of Laine Gerace and Brittany Baham. He was a resident of Port Barre and passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Laine Anthony Gerace and Brittany Ann Baham, both of Port Barre; his paternal grandparents, Teryl Gene Gerace, Jr. and Angel Stelly Gerace of Melville; his maternal grandparents, Brad Baham and Debbie Jennings Baham of Port Barre; his paternal great-grandparents, Teryl and Monica Gerace of Baton Rouge; Daniel and Roma O'Brien of Krotz Springs; and Johnny and Jeanette Stelly of Port Barre; his paternal great-great-grandmother, Rita Gerace of Baton Rouge; his godparents, Cameron Doucet and Kaitlyn Baham, both of Port Barre; and his aunts and uncles: Chelsie Stelly, Ava Gerace, and Eli Gerace, all of Melville; Kaleb Stelly of Grand Prairie; Kristy Nolan, Brad Nolan, and Kaitlyn Baham, all of Port Barre.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-great-grandparents, Sam Gerace, Jr.; Willie and Dorothy Hooks; Frank and Jeanette Stelly; and Theard and Eunice Duplantis; his maternal great-grandparents, William Baham, Sr. and Iona Baham; and Ralph Jennings, Sr. and Velma Jennings; and maternal great-great-grandparents, Percy and Loretta Aymond; and John and Bessie Jennings; and his great uncle, Chad Stelly, Sr..
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Damian Badeaux and his medical staff and Opelousas General Health System Staff for their wonderful medical care given to the family during this time.
Visiting hours will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
