Port Barre Funeral services for Wilfred Fontenot, age 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Wilfred was a native of Ville Platte and longtime resident of Port Barre. He died on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Opelousas General Heath System. Wilfred enjoyed hunting very much, he was evolved with raising Cattle and Farming.

Survivors include children Sun Ann Comeaux of Port Barre, and Jere Campbell and her husband, Blaine of Port Barre, sisters, Estella Godeau of Lake Charles, Elsie Mae Lee, of Lake Charles, and Adelia Stephen of Baton Rouge, seven grandchildren fifteen great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Christval and Odeate Tate Fontenot his wife, Flora Belle Badineaux Fontenot, his son, William Billy Fontenot, his son in law, Johnny Comeaux, his brother, Santon Fontenot, his sister, Orena Fontenot Kimble.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
