Wilda Cosgrove

Opelousas-A funeral service will be held for Wilda Leger Cosgrove at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Father James Brady will officiate the Service.

Wilda was born in Leonville and was a resident of Opelousas. She passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, at her home, at the age of 76. She very proud of her French Heritage and loved speaking French with her family and friends. Wilda enjoyed cooking for her children, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing with her grand puppy Duke, that she loved very much.

Survivors include her loving children, Anthony Martin (Marty) Cosgrove III, of Metairie LA., and Kathryn Cosgrove-Richard and her husband, John of Opelousas, and two grandchildren, Caroline Cosgrove-Richard of Opelousas her fiancé, Mitchell Rabalais, of Abita Spring, LA., and Evan Martin Cosgrove-Richard of Opelousas, brother, Henry Leger and wife, Margaret of Leonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Enola Boone Leger, brothers, Pate and Preston Leger, sister, Peggy Leger Dupuis.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Opelousas Catholic Foundation.
