Wedna Dufore

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Wedna Mae Fontenot Dufore, age 80, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Father Gil Dutel will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Wedna was a native of Ville Platte, a longtime resident of Opelousas, and was currently residing in Lafayette. She died on Friday, December 23, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. She was a nurse in Opelousas for 30 years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include two sons, W. Steve Dufore and wife, Merrie of Lafayette and Troy Dufore of Lafayette two daughters: Connie Menard and Donna Richard, both of Lafayette one brother, Willis Fontenot of Opelousas and one sister, Barbara Dutel of Sunset 10 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Altere and Ezore Fontenot two brothers, Alphan Fontenot and Jessie Fontenot three sisters, Hilda Trosclair, Carrie Andrus, and Eunice Perrodin Lafleur and the father of her children, John Warren Dufore.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, December 26, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. noon until 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
