Walter Credeur

Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville for Mr. Walter Gabriel Credeur. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Father Kenneth Domingue will celebrate the Mass.
Walter was a native of Scott and longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas at the age of 87. He was an oilfield worker for 26 years. He was also a U. S. Navy Veteran who proudly served his country. He served as a Seaman aboard the USS Carib ATF82. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and friends. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. He enjoyed listening to French Music and watching all sports, especially racing, football, and boxing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include son, Walter Ray Credeur and wife, Glennora Leblanc Credeur of Port Barre daughters, Mary Ann Stelly and husband, John B. Stelly of Leonville Margie Anne Credeur of Port Barre Sally Credeur Quebedeaux and husband, Burton Quebedeaux of Arnaudville grandsons, Joseph Percy Angelle III and wife, Lisa Guidry Angelle of Leonville Joseph Aubrey Angelle and wife, Donna Deshotel Angelle of Leonville Bradley Ray Credeur of Port Barre Eric Ray Credeur and wife, Sarah Ellis Credeur of Lafayette and Robert Gabriel Credeur of Austin, TX granddaughters, Natasha Ty Ann Quebedeaux, Chasity Quebedeaux, Mariah Quebedeaux, Maranda Quebedeaux, and Ravin Quebedeaux, all of Arnaudville Shelia Credeur Badeaux and husband, Jamie of Leonville and Carmen Credeur of Gueydan and his greatgrandchildren, Joseph Durick Angelle, Taylor Danielle Angelle, and Naomi Angelle, all of Leonville Raziel Miller of Gueydan Bentlee Jaymes Domec of Port Barre and awaiting the arrival of Karter Constantin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eva Lou Arnaud Credeur one son, Robert Gabriel Cheyenne Credeur grandson, Chadwick Ray Credeur greatgrandson, Brentley Jayce Domec and his parents, Raoul Credeur and Claudia Schexynayder Credeur brother, Wilbert Credeur and sister, Yula Mae Credeur Guidroz and brotherinlaw, Hubert Guidroz.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Percy Angelle III, Joseph Aubrey Angelle, Ravin Quebedeaux, Brent Domec, Durick Angelle, and Burton Quebedeaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bradley Ray Credeur and Bentlee Domec.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with an all night wake until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
