Walter Bellard

Lawtell A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Walter Bellard will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. Noon in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Opelousas. Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, SVD will celebrate the Mass.
Walter was a longtime resident of Lawtell. He died on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, at the age of 85. He was a cement finisher in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors spending time hunting, hand fishing, gardening, cooking spending time with his grandkids and great grandkid when his health was good. He and his wife raised a family. He was a great husband, dad, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include five sons, David Bellard and wife, Josephine of Lacassine Terry Bellard of Texas City, TX Dwight Bellard and wife, Jeanette of Lawtell Floyd Bellard of Opelousas and Daniel Bellard of Lawtell one daughter, Barbara Frank and husband, Lionel Frank, Sr. of Lawtell one brother, Leonis Bellard of Opelousas three sisters, Alexzena Dejean of Houston, TX Celestine Jame of Houston, TX and Leester Thomas of Opelousas 9 grandchildren , 11 greatgrandchildren and 5 step greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leverta Guidry Bellard his parents, Sidney Bellard and Odelia LeBlanc one brother, Curtis Bellard three sisters, Grace Thomas, Lillian Guillory, and Cecilia Bellard one granddaughter, Ebony Bellard and one grandson, Randall Wayne Faulk.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawtell on Saturday, September 13, 2014, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon. A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning in the church.
