Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Waldene Franchebois on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. MSGR. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Rite of committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Waldene, age 95, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Opelousas General Health System.
Waldene is survived by her son, Hal “Nap” Franchebois and his wife, Julie of Washington, daughters, Camille Pellerin and her husband, David of Ville Platte, and Lark Daigle of Opelousas, daughter-in-law, Candy Franchebois of Opelousas, brother, Carroll Mallett and his wife, Lois of Prairieville, grandchildren, April Jull (Robbie), Amy Fewell (Josh), Scott Pellerin, Adam Briley, Alyce Briley, Sgt. Chance Daigle, Seth Franchebois (Kayla), and six great grandchildren.
Waldene is preceded in death by her husband, Ferdie Lavergne Franchebois, parents, Raoul and Irene Mallett, sons, Mark and Dirck Franchebois, brother, Hugh and Melba Mallett, one grandson, Eric Pellerin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m.
