Opelousas Funeral Services for Virgus D. Terrebonne, age 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Fr. Cremaldi will officiate the service in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel and Fr. Nicky Trahan will officiate the graveside service.
Virgus loved to crochet, travel and cook. Her favorite meal to cook was Gumbo for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virgus, a former resident of Amelia, LA, died in Opelousas on February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents: Marie Aucoin Delaune and Villier Delaune her brothers: Burns, Dewey, Kermit, Urie and Avrid Delaune and sisters: Lenora Tabor and Leola Shepard. She is survived by her brothers: Clarence and wife, Julie Delaune Edward and wife, JoAnn Delaune and sister, Velda Delaune Bourque daughters: Shirley Patureau Desonier and Annette Patureau Stephenson grandchildren: Gail Desonier Whitworth and husband, Mel David Desonier, Jr. Clay Henry and wife, Sonja Craig Henry and wife, Susie Darlene Desonier Williams and husband, Sam and greatgrandchildren: John Whitworth and wife, Casey Jessica Whitworth Needham Heather, Victoria and Whitney Williams Ryan and Kayla Henry Nicholas and Benjamin Padleckas Kaitlyn and Grace Desonier and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas on Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
