Virginia Fusilier

Opelousas- A Graveside Service will be held for Virginia Fusilier at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Msgr. Jeff Deblanc will conduct the service.

Virginia, age 89, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxillary from 1960-70 during which her husband served as President of the Sertoma Club. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald J. Fusilier and wife, Rhonda of Carencro and Matthew O. Fusilier and life partner & "adopted son" Michael R. Shickel of Grand Coteau; five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ronald O. Fusilier; parents, Theo and Margaret Caswell Fontenot; brothers, Stafford Hurley Fontenot; and sister, Ida Mae Fontenot Guillory.
