OpelousasFuneral services for Vinola Bordelon Dawsey will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Bro. Benny Reppond will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
It is with great sadness that the family of Vinola B. Dawsey announces her passing on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA, at the age of 84. Vinola was a homemaker and former store owner. She was a woman of great faith and compassion who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of Christian Life Center in Opelousas.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Todd Hollier and wife, Stacy of Pecaniere and Jamie Hollier and wife, Chasity of Leonville one sister, Dora Jane Hutchinson of Colorado Springs, CO one brother, Felix J. Bordelon and wife, Mary of Port Charlotte, FL her brotherinlaw, Willie Thibodeaux of Opelousas her former soninlaw and father of her grandsons, Carl Hollier of Opelousas her former sisterinlaw and special friend, Marimac Coffey of Eton, GA 10 greatgrandchildren, one greatgreat grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Stopher, Sr. her second husband, Emile Campbell and her third husband, Willard H. Bill Dawsey her son, Frank Frankie Stopher, Jr. her daughter, Patricia Pat Stopher Hollier mother, Yola Dupre Bordelon and father, Dallas J. Bordelon brother, Curtis Bordelon sisters, Wilda Miller, Lou Nell Bordelon, Judy Bordelon, Versie Bordelon, and Peggy Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Todd Hollier, Jamie Hollier, Bailey Hollier, Billy Thibodeaux, Brett Credeur, and Trey Hollier.
A special thank you is extended from her family to her loving caregiver and special friend, Nancy Reppond who provided excellent care for all of Vinolas needs. Also, warm thanks are being given to Christian Life Center for being her extended family.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, July 20, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Monday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A Reflection service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Sunday.
