Verna Mobile

Port Barre A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre for Verna Chic Mobile, age 71. Private rite of Committal will be at a later date. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.

Verna passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her home peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Verna was a nurse at Opelousas General Health System for 30 years. She gave selflessly to many people. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Verna enjoyed spending countless hours in her beautiful garden.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Wade Iris Blundell of Mandeville, and four sons Richard Mobile of Port Barre, Clyde Mobile of Baton Rouge, Brent Mobile and his wife, Damie, of Krotz Springs, and Lance Mobile of Breaux Bridge. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Michael Jane Meche of Lafayette, Velma Drake of Starks, and Sybil Tullier of Port Barre. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Dustin Mobile and his wife, Julie, Brittany Mobile and Anne Blundell and one great grandson, Tucker Mobile.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Emma Lanclos Guidroz, 5 brothers, Frank, Yves, Albert, Ervin and Herbert Guidroz, and 2 sisters, Clemmie Bergeron and Ethel Fontenot.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Friday, June 15, 2012, from 6 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning in the funeral home.
