Turling Brant Vidrine

Opelousas Funeral services for Turling Brant Vidrine, 18, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30 , 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the Mass.

Mr. Vidrine was born in Opelousas and was a long time resident of Port Barre. He died on Saturday, July 28, 2007, in Port Barre as a result of an automobile accident. He was a 2006 graduate of Port Barre High School and attended T. H. Harris Technical School where he earned a certification in welding. He was employed with SHAW of Baton Rouge as a welder currently working at Valero in Krotz Springs. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Lucky 12 Hunting Club in Port Barre. He was also a dear and loving son and brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. Turling Joseph Vidrine and Mrs. Billie Jo Hebert Vidrine; one brother, Branson Joseph Vidrine and one sister, Brandi Jo Vidrine, all of Port Barre; paternal grandmother, Dora Jane Vidrine of Port Barre; maternal grandmother, Nita Louise Hebert of Opelousas; and his godparents: Christopher Shawn Hebert of Port Barre; and Nichole Delane Bertrand of Opelousas. He also has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other family members.

Mr. Vidrine was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jessie Joseph Vidrine, Sr. and his maternal grandfather, Allen Joseph Hebert.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, July 29, 2007 in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 2 p.m. with an all night wake until 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
