OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life for Troy Marshall Doucet will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Troy, age 40, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Fairview Hospital in Ohio.
Troy was a dedicated member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints; he served as a leader within the church, studied the scriptures, and was a part of the Latter-Day Saints Helping Hands. He took pride in taking care of himself by weightlifting, bodybuilding and enjoyed cooking a delicious meal. Most importantly he loved spending time with his children and his family. Troy went through Navy Seal training and was a level 2 NACE coating inspector. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Deshel Hadley Doucet of Utah; parents, James Thurman Doucet of Opelousas and Claudia June Voyles of South Carolina; sons, Jayce Troy Doucet of Opelousas and Marshall “Lil Rob” Doucet of Utah; daughter, Mya Savannah Doucet of Opelousas; brothers, Jamie Doucet and Seth Doucet both of Opelousas; sisters, Tammy Doucet of Opelousas, Patti Delahoussaye and husband, Paul of Arnaudville, Shannon Mesa and husband, Santi of Oregon; Emily Clark and husband, Matt of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Stella St. Amand, paternal grandfather, J.C. Doucet; maternal grandmother, Peggy June Maxwell; and maternal grandfather, Claude Voyles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Doucet, Seth Doucet, Dexter Doucet, Quentin Doucet, Santi Mesa and Matt Clark.
