Trent Fontenot

OpelousasTrent Thomas Brown Fontenot, age 16, earned his wings on Sunday, November 25, 2012, after a ninemonth battle with Lymphoma at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, Louisiana. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Pastor Eugene Reiszner will officiate the services.
Trent was born in Morgan City and was a longtime resident of Opelousas. As a pastime, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, and playing basketball and video games. He was a sophomore at Warriors for Christ Christian Academy in Opelousas. He attended Our Saviors Church in Opelousas. He was a wonderful, loving, and caring son, brother, nephew and cousin. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Gautreaux Fontenot of Opelousas three brothers, Eric Brown Fontenot and girlfriend, Dani Elter of Opelousas C. J. Fontenot and Christian Fontenot, both of Opelousas two sisters, Ashleigh Brown Fontenot Breaux and husband, Randall of Opelousas and Gabbie Fontenot and boyfriend, Daniel Comeaux of Gueydan niece and nephews: Shelbie and Spencer Breaux, and Cylar Elter, all of Opelousas maternal grandparents, Linda Theriot and husband, Laurent of Parks paternal grandparents, Edrick and Mary Brown of Scott and paternal grandmother, Linda Sue Fontenot of Ville Platte.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Herman Joe Fontenot, Jr. biological parents, Brent Matthew Brown and Joyce Marie Romero maternal grandparents, Ewell Gautreaux and Bevelyn Gautreaux maternal grandfather, Donald Paul Romero, Sr. and paternal grandfather, Joseph Herman Fontenot, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Eric Brown Fontenot, Tim Marks, Kurt Brown, Beau Miller,
Zach Bellard, Cory Bellard, Devin Elter, and Jessie Elter. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Brown, C.J. Fontenot, and the sophomore class of Warriors for Christ Christian Academy.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Craig Greene for his efforts in getting Trent to St. Judes Hospital for treatment and to the entire staff of St. Judes Hospital for the wonderful care given to Trent during his illness. The family also sends personal thanks to Dr. Hiroto Inaba, Dr. Torrey Sandlund, and all of the nurses and staff the 2nd floor LymphomaLeukemia Unit of St. Judes Hospital.
