Port Barre- Funeral services for Tommy James Richard will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Bible Baptist Church in Krotz Springs.

Mr. Richard, age 58, departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, after a long courageous battle with Cancer.

Mr. Richard was born on December 11, 1950, in Port Barre, LA, and was also a life long resident of Port Barre. He was a Welder for the past 8 years. He was previously employed at FMC Corporation for 26 years where he retired.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

In his earlier life, he coached flea fly and was involved in local rodeo events and the Port Barre Riding Club.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Richard of Port Barre; 3 sons: Phillip Richard and wife, April of Pecanierre; Benji Richard and wife, Christy of Port Barre; and Brooks Richard of Port Barre; and 1 step daughter, Ashley Posey of Port Barre; 2 step sons: Casey Kirkland of Philadelphia, MS; and Andy Kirkland of Saraland, AL; his parents: Leo and Jesslyn Richard of Port Barre; 3 brothers: Donald Richard and wife, Ella of Port Barre: Leo Richard of Port Barre: and Tony Richard of Port Barre: 2 sisters: Betty Scott and husband, Jimmy of Picayune, MS; and Audrey Blaisdell and husband, Kim of Paducah, KY; 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 1 step grandson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Richard.

He will be sadly missed by all who truly knew and loved him.
P Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Saturday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
