Timothy Tim James Boyd
Opelousas- Funeral services for Timothy James Boyd, known to many as Tim, age 61, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park. Msgr. Louis Melancon will officiate the services.
Tim was a native and life-long resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009, in the Opelousas General Health System. Tim owned and operated BT KWIK SHOP in Nuba, LA since 1987 where he had many close friends who visited him daily especially his early morning coffee crew.
Tim was a loving husband and a proud father. He was always there for his boys. Tim was a quiet and kind person who always worked hard and never complained.
For over 40 years, he continued his passion for horse racing both at the track and by watching the daily races on TVG. He also enjoyed cooking and always loved a good meal.
He was married to Beth Wallett Boyd of Opelousas for over 38 years and together they raised two sons: Logan Boyd of Austin, Texas; and Brad Boyd and his wife, Blair of Lafayette. His only grandchild, Brynnan, loved her Pa Boyd. He is also survived by four brothers: Ronald Bip Boyd and wife, Libby of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; Dennis Boyd and wife, Charlene of Lafayette; Robert Boyd and wife, Brenda of Edmond, Oklahoma; and William Willy Boyd and wife, Pat of Opelousas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Michael Wallett and wife, Diane of Opelousas; Jane Wallett Dean and husband, William Billy Dean of Baton Rouge; and Troyce Ducorbier and wife, Wynette of Lafayette; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Gus E. Boyd and Vera Mae St. Cyr Boyd.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
His brothers: Ronald Bip Boyd, Dennis Boyd, Robert Boyd, and William Willy Boyd and his brothers-in-law: William Billy Dean and Troyce Ducorbier will serve as pallbearers.
