Tilman Babineaux, Sr.

Cankton - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton, LA, for Mr. Tilman Paul Babineaux, Sr., age 61. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton, LA. Msgr. Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Tilman passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at his home in Crowley, LA.

He worked in the construction industry for many years as a carpenter. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his son, Tilman Paul Babineaux, Jr. of Crowley; his daughter, Katina Babineaux of Sunset; his wife, Carole Smith Babineaux of Sunset; two stepsons, Allen Guidry of Bossier City; and Troy Guidry of Sunset; two sisters, Dianne Guidry and husband, Michael of Sunset; and Grace Smith and husband, Harold of Port Barre; his grandchildren, Cody Boudreaux, Troy Mouton, Jr., Bethany Mouton, Jacob Guidry, and Jayce Guidry; and great-grandchildren, Braylon Tweedel, Jamal Mouton, and Cambrie Mouton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Huse Babineaux and Bessie Lormand Babineaux; brother, Tommy Joseph Babineaux, Sr.; and stepson, Johnathon Smith.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Doucet, Edward Putnal, Cody Boudreaux, Randy Istre, Michael Guidry, Jr., and Chad Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jayce Guidry, Jacob Guidry, and Braylon Tweedel.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Miles Perret Center.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Friday, January 30, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
