Thomas Jones

Krotz Springs - Memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. for Thomas Douglas Jones, age 78, on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Pastor Chad Bolfa will conduct the Service. Interment will follow at a later date in the Pentecostal Cemetery of Melville, La.

Thomas was a resident of Krotz Springs, he passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at his residence in Krotz Springs. Thomas was a former Marine and proud of his heritage in the Marine Corp. He served during the Vietnam War, in the HQ Maintance and Support Battalion; receiving the rank of Corporal. Thomas was a member of the American Legion Post of Melville and Port Barre and a member of the VFW of Conroe, Tx. Thomas loved working on Diesel engines, hunting and fishing but the most important times was spending time with his family and friends. He is going to be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Jones and wife Elaine of Venice, FL.; daughters, Gwendolyn Sonnier and husband Danny of Port Barre, Misty LeJeune and husband Joe of Krotz Springs, Amanda Ryder and husband Steve of Opelousas; brother, Billy Jones of Conroe, TX; sister, Carole Sheffield and husband Ronald of Huntington, TX.; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa B. Jones; parents, Benjiman and Jessie Vowell Jones; son, Murrell LeBeouf, Jr; brothers, Robert and Frank Jones; sister, Eveyln Strickland.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs from 1:00 p.m. until time of Service at 4:00 p.m.
