Theresa Lalonde

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Theresa Chautin Lalonde, age 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Landry Cemetery.
Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.
Theresa was a native of the Arnaudville area, a longtime resident of Opelousas, and a current resident of Eunice. She died on Friday, July 9, 2010, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.
She enjoyed spending time visiting and cooking with her family and friends, and canning fruits and vegetables. She loved being outdoors whether it was cutting her grass or working in her garden. She was an excellent homemaker and seamstress. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and greatgreatgrandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Theriot and husband, Jude Theriot of Eunice Yvonne Marie Perkins and husband, John Ray Perkins, Jr. of Opelousas two sisters, Lillian Landry of Arnaudville and Evelyn Bourque of Opelousas 7 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreatgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Lalonde one daughter, Betty Joyce Kidder soninlaw, Leonard Kidder her parents, Napolean and Theodasia Robin Chautin 4 brothers and 8 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Robert Kidder, John Ray Perkins III, Christopher Perkins, Joshua LeJeune, John Ray Perkins, Jr., and Jude Theriot.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
