Theresa R. Bergeron
Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Theresa R. Bergeron, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014, in St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Leo Mausoleum with Fr. Ken Domingue as the celebrant.
Mrs. Theresa was a long time resident of Leonville area. She died on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 80. Theresa loved her Church, St. Leo and was very involved. She was a member of the St. Leo Altar Society and served as one of the officers, St. Leo Rosary Group, Catechism Teacher, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Choir and was very involved in the Church Fairs. She loved going to the Casino, playing Pokeno with her friends, working in her flower bed. Her greatest love was spending time and helping take care of her children and grandchildren. She is going to be greatly missed by her family, friends and church.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Alexis Jay Bergeron and wife Susie of Leonville, Lester Bergeron and wife Monica of Leonville daughters, Peggy Lalonde and husband Charles of Leonville, Angela Malagarie and husband John of Leonville sisters, Melba Noel of Grand Coteau, Ethel Smith and husband Harry of Grand Coteau eight grandchildren five great grandchildren and the father of her children, Joseph Bergeron of Leonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alexis Richard and Eugenie Landry Bernard son, Joseph Wilton Bergeron, Jr. sisters, Ella Mae Quebedeaux, Eleanor Quebedeaux and Anna Lee Stout.
Special thanks to the staff of Senior Village Nursing Home, Dr. Louis Nix, staff of La. Hospice and Palliative and the staff at Opelousas General Health System for the wonderful care and service given to Mrs. Theresa.
Visiting hours will be held in the St. Leo Catholic Church on Friday, December 12, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Service with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m.
