Port Barre A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre for Mrs. Theolia Marie LaHaye Kavalir. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Rev. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Theolia was a native and longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas at the age of 88. She was a Nurses Aide for many years. As a pastime, she enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include one sisterinlaw, Georgia LaHaye of Port Barre and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. A.J. Tony Kavalir her parents, August LaHaye and Alzira Carrier LaHaye sisters, Mabel Prather, Rose Mae Darbonne, Gertie Mistric, Margie Roy, and Jeanette Soileau and brothers, Joe LaHaye and Perkins J. Buck LaHaye.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Monday, December 17, 2012, from 3 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
