Sylvia Tate

MelvilleFuneral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at First United Pentecostal Church in Melville for Mrs. Sylvia Ann Barker Tate. Interment will follow in the First United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Melville. Bro. Charles Polozola will officiate the services.
Sylvia was a resident of Opelousas, LA. She passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 52. She was a homemaker and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially all of the Tates.
Survivors include her husband, Kurt Tate of Opelousas her parents, Patrick Hood Barker, Sr. and Julia Frame Barker of Melville two stepsons, Matthew Tate of Prairie Ronde and Jason Tate of Opelousas one stepdaughter, Lyra Tate Moreau of Lawtell four brothers, Patrick Hood Barker, Jr. of Palmetto Kenny Barker, Sr., Jerry Barker, Sr., and Russell Barker all of Melville four sisters, Earline Duvall and Effie Hilda Barker, both of Melville Julia Barker Benoit of Krotz Springs and Rose Barker Quirk of Opelousas six step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Barker.
Visiting hours will be observed in the First United Pentecostal Church Hall of Melville on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
