Sylvan Durio

OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Sylvan Paul Durio. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Msgr. Fr. Paul Metrejean will officiate the services.

Sylvan was a resident of Southaven, Mississippi. He passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 59. He enjoyed plants, landscaping, going to auctions, woodworking, and helping others. He loved spending time with his family and teaching them what was important in life.

Survivors include two sons, Dustin Durio and wife, Molly and Darrell Durio daughter, Amy Durio his mother, Elizabeth Belle Gulino Durio his siblings: Fred Durio, Ken Durio and wife, Jodi Charlotte Devillier and husband, Dale Liz Durio, Tina Boudreaux and husband, Brendan Albert Durio and Roxanne and Dalton Durio and Lisa and 2 grandchildren, Juliana Durio and Jaxon Durio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Neka G. Durio, Jr. grandparents, Kenneth G. Durio, Sr. and Eugenie Durio sister, Carmen Durio and brother, Darrell Durio.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday in the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
