Steven Paul Fontenot

Opelousas Funeral services for Steven Paul Fontenot, age 50, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Bridgets Cemetery.
Fr. Austin Leger and Fr. Ted Broussard will officate the service.
Steven was a native and a long time resident of Lawtell. He died on Friday, April 8, 2011, at his home.
Steven loved raising and training thoroughbred horses.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda D. Fontenot, of Lawtell, father, George Lee Fontenot, of Lawtell, his children Derrick Scott Fontenot and wife, Kristin of Krotz Springs, Dylan Paul Fontenot, Dakoda Lee Fontenot, and Courtney Rachelle Fontenot all of Lawtell, brothers Michael Fontenot of Opelousas, Gerald Fontenot, Randy Fontenot, and Jimmie Fontenot, all of Lawtell , sisters Diana Vidrine of Stafford, VA., and Jennifer Fontenot of Lawtell, one grand son Bennett Scott Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Jane Francois Fontenot, brothers John and Kenny Fontenot.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, April 10, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m.

A Rosary service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home chapel.
