Sr. Albina Guillory, MSC AKA Dottie Belle was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana on February 3, 1923.

Deceased at Opelousas, Louisiana on April 20, 2014 at 6:45 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Guillory, her mother, Avia Lafleur, a sister, Alice Muriel Pretchett and her brothers, Nathan Guillory and Cecil Guillory.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families.

Sr. Albina entered the Congregation of the Marianites of Holy Cross in 1940. She pronounced her perpetual vows on August 11, 1945.

She was involved in education at Catholic schools in Louisiana including schools in New Orleans, Morgan City, Arnaudville, Lake Charles, Ville Platte, Eunice, and in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. In addition, she served as Registrar at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans Director of Newman Hall at Southeastern University Counselor at Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte Director of the Sanctuary for Teens in Eunice Administrator of St. Martin Manor in New Orleans Resident Manager of Our Ladys Manor in Alexandria Resident Manager of Sharlo Terrace Apartments in Baton Rouge and did volunteer work at St. Michaels in Crowley.

Her last years of ministry were spent at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home where she was actively involved in assisting with various activities. Through her varied life experiences, she brought a caring and prayerful presence. Using bright and beautiful colors, she enjoyed creating items of needlework. With those same bright and beautiful colors, her dedication to others was distinctly woven in the fabric of the lives she touched.

To celebrate her life, a wake will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd, 8:30 AM 10:30 AM in the Chapel at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home. Mass of the Resurrection will follow in the Chapel at 10:30 AM with burial in St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the Marianites of Holy Cross request that memorial donations be made to the Marianites of Holy Cross at 1011 Gallier St., New Orleans, LA 70117.
