Opelousas Funeral services for Sr. Joan McMillan, C.I.C., 92, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2007, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.

The Very Reverend Monsignor Louis Melancon will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Sr. Joan was born Barbara McMillan in Church Point and was living at the Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas at her death. She received her Degree in Education and taught in many of the Catholic Schools in our area and served the Lord in the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception Order.

Survivors include her brother, Edward McMillan of Houston, Tx and sisters, Dorothy Ortego and Melba Britt of Opelousas, La.

Sr. Joan was preceded in death by her parents: Neil and Josephine Richard McMillan; Brothers, John Emmett, Joseph and Hugh Numa McMillan.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, Sept 2, 2007, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau, La. Monday the Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A rosary will be recited at 7:30PM on Sunday.
