Sibyl Meche

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Sibyl Goss Meche, on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Sibyl, age 76, a resident of Opelousas passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2019. She enjoyed playing Bingo, being a photographer at every family event, and working cross word puzzles.

She is survived by her children, Albert Meche and his wife, Lisa, Danny Meche and his wife, Melodie, Deena Hebert and her companion, Earl Courville and Darla Soileau and her husband, Dwayne all of Opelousas, ten grandchildren, Christopher Hebert, Ashly Hebert, Nicholas Hebert, Bradley Hebert, Brodie Meche, Matthew Meche, Ressa Bazar, Michon Delahoussaye, Rico Meche, and Olivia Soileau, and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elina Goss, her husband, Jospeh C. Meche, her sons, Michael Meche and Vincent Meche, son-in-law, Donald Hebert and grandson, Colby Soileau.

The family requests visitation to be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. till time of service, with a rosary to be held at 12:15 p.m.
