A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Shirley Janet on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Shirley Janet, a beloved mother, and grandmother, cherished for her loving nature and devotion to her family, has passed away at Opelousas General Health System. She was born in New Orleans on July 19, 1935. Shirley's warm and nurturing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Shirley found joy in the simple moments spent with her family. Her proudest accomplishment was her unwavering faith as a devoted Catholic, reciting the rosary every day. Shirley's dedication to her beliefs was an inspiration to those around her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Janet; her son, Daniel Janet; and her parents, Joseph and Agnes LeBlanc, and brother, Elton LeBlanc.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Wagner (Frank) of Port Barre; grandchildren, Shannon Bishop (Jerry), Brandy Becknel, Heather Janet, and Kevin Wagner; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In the hearts of all who knew Shirley Janet, she will be remembered for her kindness, love, and the special moments shared with family. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00am till time of service at 1:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
