Shirley Chiasson Rills Bellard

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Shirley Chiasson Rills Bellard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Shirley was a native and a longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at her home in Port Barre at the age of 77. She was retired after working many years as an office manager for a local Ophthalmologist. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. As a pastime, Shirley would design beautiful cakes. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Melissa R. Grimmett (Chris) of Port Barre; and Donna R. Tullia (Claude) of Lafayette; two brothers, Eldridge Chiasson of Port Barre; and Jim Chiasson (Sharlene) of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Kylie G. Chelette (Seth), Charlie R. Grimmett and fiancé, Megan LaFleur, Eric C. Grimmett (Amanda), Angenique L. Barron and fiancé, Louis LeBlanc, Alyssa R. Barron and fiancé, Beau Vincent, and Alex J. Pipkins; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rills; her parents, Edward Chiasson and Azema Duplechain Chiasson; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Chiasson.
Pallbearers will be Chris Grimmett, Charlie Grimmett, Eric Grimmett, Seth Chelette, Claude Tullia, and Louis LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 4:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of Mrs. Shirley's wonderful caretakers, Angenique Barron, Bridgeway Hospice, and Glenda Waldrup for their excellent care during her time of need.
