OPELOUSAS – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Scotty James Cormier, Jr. announces his untimely death at the age of 23. A memorial service will be held to honor his life on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas at 3:00 PM.
Scotty James Cormier, Jr. was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on January 13, 1999. This bright young man loved to work on any type of motor that needed fixing. Although his life ended too soon, he was a joy in so many people’s lives. Scotty will be greatly missed and will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved him.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents Scotty, Sr. and Annette Cormier of Church Point; two brothers, Nicholas Jeremy Cormier of Auburndale, Florida and Blake Scott Cormier of Port Barre; three sisters, Brooke Nicole Cormier of Grand Prairie, Heather Colonna of Texas, and Taylor Paige Cormier of Church Point; maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Sattler of Church Point; Godchild, Kinzleigh Nicole Leger; uncle, Tony Cormier of St. Gabriel; and nieces and nephews, Magnolia Elise Savoy and Sydney Jayde and Jordan Seth Colonna.
Scotty now joins in eternal rest his brother, Eric Brandon Cormier; maternal grandfather, Leland Jagneaux; and paternal grandparents, Marion and Juanita Cormier.
The family requests that a visitation be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
