OPELOUSAS - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Scott Owen Callier announces his passing on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the age of 20. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge in Palmetto. Burial will follow in the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge Cemetery with Rev. Bob Furen officiating services.
Scott was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and grandson. Scott leaves behind his mother Annette Boudreaux of Palmetto, father Owen Callier and wife Melania of Port Barre, brothers Robert Callier of Rosedale, Blake Callier of Prairieville, and Ryan Callier of Jackson, Mississippi, and his step-brothers Coby Ducote and wife Ashley, David Ducote and wife Kristin, and Luke Ducote all of Palmetto. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his paternal grandmother Lillie S. Grimmett of Port Barre, maternal grandfather Lester Boudreaux, Sr., great grandmother Amede Smith of Palmetto, and his uncles Lance Callier and Lester Boudreaux, Jr.
He now rests with his grandmother Mary Catherine Boudreaux and grandfathers Wilsey Callier and Leroy Grimmett.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge in Palmetto on Monday, December 19 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and again on Tuesday, December 20 from 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM.
