Grand CoteauA Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Santa Mayfield Etienne, known to many as Cynthia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014, in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Fr. Derrick Weingartner, S. J. will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.
She was born in Lafayette and resided most of her life in Sunset. She passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette at the age of 64. She was a past graduate of Sunset High School. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Brother Etienne of Sunset two sons, Francis Etienne and wife, Mary of Church Point and Donald Etienne, Sr. and wife, Tiffany of Bellevue one daughter, Joanne Francis and husband, Jimmy Francis, Jr. of Sunset two brothers, Michael Mayfield of Morgan City and Curley Mayfield of Crowley two sisters, Prenella Charlot of Church Point and Mary Mayfield of Morgan City and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Payne and Susie Mayfield Payne two brothers, Eddie Payne, Jr. and Benjamin Payne and two sisters, Pearl Payne and John Ella Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Francis Etienne, Donald Etienne, Sr., Jimmy Francis, Jr., Jimmy Francis III, John Francis, Charles Francis, Ricky Julien, Sr. and Kevin Johnson.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2014, for the family at 7:00 a.m. and public from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
