Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Sandra Lobello Hooks on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mrs. Sandra, a native of Melville and a longtime resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the age of 79, at her Heritage Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Sandra was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed having company over and spending time with family and friends. She always enjoyed shopping with her daughters and watching western television episodes with her son. Sandra will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Sandra is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Hooks Benoit and Cindy Hooks Klein (companion, Brandon); son, Christopher Hooks (Stacey); sisters, Cora Hargrove and Dorothy Richard; along with many nieces, nephews and sister and brothers-in-law. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mallory Fontenot (Brandon), Kimberly Kinkaid (Blake), Joshua Benoit, Gabriel Klein (Kaitlyn), Destin Marks, Taylor Baham (Sloan), Bailey Hooks (Madison), Kaleb Benoit and Addison Hooks; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hooks, Jr.; her parents, Vincent Lobello and Francis Dicapo Lobello; and her son-in-law, Dwain Benoit.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins.

The family would like to send a warm thanks to the staff at Heritage Manor of Opelousas for being so kind and taking such good care of her. They would also like to thank Traditions Hospice for making her comfortable before her transition to heaven.
