Ruth Noel

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ruth Noel, age 93, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
Ruth was a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and longtime residence of Lawtell. She died on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a parishioner at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. She enjoyed getting together with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence P. Noel, Jr. and wife, Lydia of Hornbeck and Eugene Noel of Richard three daughters, Evelyn Hidalgo of St. Martinville Peggy Fontenot and husband, Michael of Ville Platte and Martha Noel of Lawtell three brothers, Murphy Robert of Groves, TX Vernice Robert of Port Arthur, TX and Johnny Robert of Jasper, TX two step brothers, Wilton Robert of Sulphur and Wilbert Robert of Carencro one step sister, Brenda Boutte of Virginia 24 grandchildren, 53 greatgrandchildren, and numerous greatgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence P. Noel, Sr. daughter, Bonnie Bell Lebleu two sons, Raphael Noel and Joseph Martin Noel, Sr. her parents, John Robert and Rita Thibodeaux Robert one sister, Dorothy Ortego five brothers, Ervin, Alton, Howard, Jessie and Rufus Robert one step brother, Ronald Robert and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, March 3, 2014, from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
