Roy was a very talented welder and pipe fitter he began demonstrating his trade at the Delta Shipyards in New Orleans and then at Dow Chemical in Baton Rouge for many years before beginning his own private business, Lancloss Father and Son Welding Service. Roy loved to teach his profession to young people, when new people began to work at the shipyards and plants he would help to teach and guide them. Today many of these people own their own business and still come by or call and get advice from Roy. Roy may have been a quiet man but he was a very wise when it came to his profession, he also liked to sit around the table with his friends and family and swap stories some of those stories were about the business of welding but many were about the pranks he and his young cousins used to pull and the rabbit hunting adventures that he had been in. Roy loved seeing people happy and tried his best to always be there for family and friends. Roys special person in his life was his wife Verna who he spent 66 years of his life with. Roy loved his Lord and tried to serve God to the very best of his ability. He loved going to Church until illness prevented him from doing so. Roy was a man of great perseverance, love, knowledge and gentleness he is going to be greatly missed by family and friends.
