Roy Andrew Whipp

Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Roy Andrew Whipp, 50, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Rev. Rodney Chitwood will conduct the services.

Mr. Whipp was born in Erath, and was a resident of Cankton. He died at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Opelousas.

Survivors include his son, Jacob Alexander Whipp of Lawtell; his daughter, Tabitha Lane Whipp of Lawtell; his significant other, Cynthia Hursey of Cankton; one step-daughter Desirea Larson and husband, Andrew of Baton Rouge; one brother, Austin Edwin Whipp, Jr., and wife, Carol of New Iberia; two sisters, Ann Marie Fruge and husband John of Kinder, La and Charlene Stelly and husband, Xabier of Louisburg, La; also his former wife, Margie Whipp of Lawtell.

Mr. Whipp was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Edwin Whipp Sr. and Vernalee Badeaux; his son Roy Andrew Andy Whipp; his paternal grandparents, Jennie and Ivy A. Whipp; his maternal grandparents, Emily and Rene' Badeaux; his aunt and uncle, Ruth Elizabeth and Arther A. Whipp; his maternal aunt, Yvonne B. Koch; and his nephew, Kevin A. Lecompt.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, from 9:00 am until 10:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas, and on Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of services

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday night.
