Ronald James Theriot

Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for Ronald James Theriot on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service; the rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. Deacon Jerome Collins will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Ronald James Theriot, a beloved member of the Opelousas community, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, with his family by his side at Lafayette General Hospital. Born on May 16, 1948, in Opelousas, Ronald was a loving father, son, brother and friend. 

Ronald had a deep love for his family and cherished every moment spent together. One of his greatest joys was watching Saints football games. His passion for the game brought laughter and excitement to every event. In addition to football, Ronald enjoyed the thrill of gambling. He found joy in playing various games of chance and always embraced the friendly competition that came along with it. 

Ronald was a devout Catholic and took immense pride in being a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. His faith provided him with strength and guidance throughout his life. 

Ronald is survived by his sons, Jeremy Theriot (Michelle) and Jacob Theriot; daughter, Kimberly Theriot Ludlow (Harold); his companion, Theresa Wyble; and his four grandchildren, Shannen, Bailey, Tyson and Julianne.

Ronald is preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Theriot, Fred Theriot and Richard Theriot; and his parents, Joseph and Lee’anna Theriot.
