Robert Scruggins

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Frog Scruggins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Landry Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Father James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Robert was a resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Senior Village Nursing Home at the age of 70. He was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church. He was very dedicated to his family and enjoyed his time with them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Richard Scruggins of Opelousas son, Chadwick Scruggins of Houston, TX daughter, Angela Hebert and husband, Deacon Mitch of Port Barre brothers, Jerry Scruggins and wife, Patrica of Port Barre and Joseph Tee Scruggins and wife, Betty of Port Barre sisters, Judy Credeur and husband, Harold of Port Barre Peggy Romero of Duson and Debra Ortego and husband, Danny of Port Barre sixteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Lillian Lahaye Scruggins brothers, Preston, Jr., W.J., Leon, Albert Lee and Tommy Scruggins and sisters, Louella Guillory, Myrtle Codori, and May Council.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Home will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
