Robert “Mr. Rabbit” Reviere was a lifelong resident of Lawtell, LA. He was a well-known barber for a remarkable 65 years, from 1955 to 2020. He was greatly admired for his generosity. Many of his customers over the years have shared their experience of how “Mr. Rabbit” touched their lives through his genuine kindness and gentle nature. Just as many have share stories of quips, practical jokes, and silly moments from interactions with Robert. He loved his work because he loved people.

Another labor of love for Robert was gardening and sharing his freshly picked produce with family and friends.

Robert was a devout Catholic who truly lived his life after Jesus’ example of love.

Perhaps the greatest impact that Robert made in life was on his family. His love for his family was evident through his actions. He was a model of selflessness, patience, and benevolence. He leaves behind children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry that love with them for life.

Survivors included his daughters, Monica Reviere Olivier and her husband, Wendel of Lawtell, and Alison Reviere Bernard and her husband, David of Broussard; sons, Karl Andy Reviere and his wife, Kim Lacour Reviere of Carencro, and Mitchell Todd Reviere and his partner, Mitch Duhon of Broussard; grandchildren, Holly Olivier-Morgan and her husband, Errold of Villa Rica, GA, Michelle Olivier Duplechien and her husband, Ryan of Broussard, Rachel Olivier, Jonathan Olivier and his wife, Ashley of Greensburg, Claire Reviere, Jacob Reviere, Nathan Bernard, and Kate Bernard; great-grandchildren, Haven and Sawyer Ortego, Abram and Audriana Duplechien, Rori Woodley, and Jackson and Beau Olivier.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruby Noel Reviere; his son, Daniel Reviere; his grandson, Joshua Olivier; his parents, Solomon and Edmonia Reviere; his brothers, Abbie, James, and Clarence Reviere; and his sisters, Francis Reviere Dupre, Ruby Reviere Miller, and Ursline Reviere Long.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. by Fr. Mike Champagne. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
