Robert Artigue

Port Barre - A Funeral Service for Robert Lee Artigue will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will conduct the service.

Robert, age 69, a resident of Port Barre, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was a dedicated worker of Delta Compression in Krotz Springs. He loved being outdoors going hunting and fishing.  Robert loved spending time with family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of ­­49 years, Cheryl Cormier Artigue of Port Barre; son, Robbie Paul Artigue and companion, Tahlia Ponthieaux of Port Barre; brothers, Calvin Artigue and wife, Elaine of Arnaudville and Dolphe Artigue, Jr. and wife, Celeste of Opelousas; sister, Shirley Zeringue and husband, John Ray of Opelousas; 3 grandchildren, Gage Paul Artigue and girlfriend, Sydney Colligan of Lafayette, Kaden Paul Artigue and girlfriend, Zoe Nezat of Port Barre, Marlie Rae Artigue and boyfriend, Adam Paul Kimball of Port Barre; 1 great-grandchild on the way, Ryker Paul Artigue; and godchildren, Sherri McGovern and husband, Steven of Opelousas, and Brett Artigue and wife, Hannah of Port Barre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphe Artigue, Sr. and Vernice Stout Artigue; and in-laws, Harris Cormier and Della Mae Bergeron Cormier.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
