Rives J. Cradeur, Sr.
Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church for Mr. Rives J. Cradeur. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum. Rev. Father Keith Derouen will celebrate the Mass. Musical selections will be provided by Richard Sellers.
Rives was a native of Kaplan and a long time resident of Opelousas he passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 83.
Rives worked for BellSouth for 44 years reaching the position of Supervisor and after retirement he began working for C D Utilities for 912 years until he entered into full retirement where he starting spending more time with his children, grandchildren and wife of 62 years, Wilda. Rives enjoy his time watching LSU sports and eating with his many family members and friends. Rives was a member of the Opelousas Elks Club, BellSouth Pioneers and the Council on Aging. He is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years, Wilda LeJeune Cradeur of Opelousas sons, Michael Wayne Cradeur and wife Phyllis of Mandeville, Rives J. Cradeur, Jr. and wife Paula of Lafayette daughters Janice Rogers and husband Lonnie of New Roads, Mia Claire Cradeur of New Orleans brother, Jerry John Cradeur and wife Mary Katheryn of Sacramento, CA. sisters, Nelma Badon of Crowley, Lousalla Stoutes and husband Donnie of Crowley grandchildren, Ross Cradeur, Allyson Brown and husband Waylon, Dustin Rogers and wife Katie, Blake Cradeur, Trent Cradeur and wife Laura, Kevin Cradeur, Cortney Lewellyn and husband Matt great grandchildren, Tyler Rogers, Jonah Pastureau, Luke Pastureau, Alexandra Lewellyn, Carson Lewellyn, Tallon Brown, Jolene Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Odette Simon Cradeur granddaughter, Tara Pastureau and sister, Joyce Duhon.
Pallbearers will be Rives 5 grandsons and 1 great grandson honorary will be members of the Council on Aging.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
