Rita Hutchins

Port Barre -A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Guillory Hutchins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Rita was a native of Port Barre and a resident of Arnaudville. She passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville at the age of 83. She loved gardening, enjoyed cooking and cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her sister, Marie Guillory Lejeune of Carencro; niece, Bobbie Wimberley and husband, Don of Church Point and their children, Allie Paige Wimberley of Lake Charles; and Jackson Wimberley of Church Point; her godchild, Don Quebedeaux of Gray; and her nieces and nephews: Deacon Barney Lejeune of Carencro; Geraldine Ortego of Carencro; Mike Guillory of Texas; Jackie Trahan of Texas; Sandra Humble of Houma; Mona Jagneaux of Church Point; Ronnie Kidder of Arnaudville; Sheila Cormier of Church Point; and Cheryl Andrus of Church Point.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hersey Hutchins; her parents, Gilbert Guillory and Bridgett Morain Guillory; siblings, Helen Quebedeaux, Edward Guillory, Eric Guillory, and Gilbert Guillory, Jr.; nephews, Bobby Quebedeaux and Danny Guillory; and nieces, Nettie Stelly and Donna Rose Guillory.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Monday, August 1, 2016, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
