Rita Hargroder

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita D. Hargroder will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015, in the Our Lady of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Fr. Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.

Rita was a resident of Opelousas, she passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the age of 63. Rita enjoyed sewing, watching NCIS, Svu, Monogramming and Genealogy.

Survivors include her husband, Didier "T Boy" Hargroder of Opelousas, children, Jeremy Hargroder and wife, Pam of Opelousas, Jason Hargroder and wife, Wendy, of Prairie Ronde and Toshia Council, of Opelousas, brother Michael Duplechien of Prairie Ronde, sisters, Beverly Carriere of Opelousas, Dale Joubert of Lafayette, Arlene Richard of Opelousas, grandchildren, Kristin Hargroder Caesar and husband, CJ, Tabbie Hargroder, Seth Hargroder, Lindsay Council, Kolby Council and Nyla Caesar, 5 step-grandchildren and a host of loving sewing friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Eurella Fontneot Duplechien, brother, Leon Troy Duplechien.

Pallbearers will be, Jeremy Hargroder, Jason Hargroder, Seth Hargroder, Michael Duplechien, Timmy Arceneaux and Kevin Dupre. Honorary pallbearer Kolby Council.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. with a all night wake until time of service on Monday. A rosary service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
