Richard Kovacs

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard David Kovacs announces his passing on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the age of 75.  He will be remembered at a memorial service at a later date.

Richard David Kovacs was born in Flint, Michigan on October 30, 1946 to Steve and Margaret Kovacs.  Richard proudly served his country for 23 years as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force.

Left behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Cynthia Dupre Kovacs of Alexandria, Louisiana; son, Jason Kovacs and wife, Dottie of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two grandchildren, Andrew Kovacs  and Robyn Kovacs both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brother, Steve Kovacs III and wife, Barbara of Flint Michigan; and two sisters, Sylvia Hicks of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Debra Kovacs of Davison, Michigan.  He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Merreline Dupre of Mamou; sisters-in-law, Marian Darby and husband, Felix of Opelousas and Emeline Johnson and husband, Billy of Mamou; brother-in-law, Ronald Dupre and wife, Bonnie of Opelousas; and dear friends, Beverly Foreman of Opelousas.

Richard now rests with his parents Steve and Margaret Kovacs.
