Opelousas- Funeral services for Mrs. Regina D. Prejean, age 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Fr. Albert Nunez will celebrate the Mass. The readings will be done by Charlotte Domingues, Melanie Alleman, and Mindy Thibodeaux. The offertory gifts will be presented by Brandi Ledoux, Catherine Domingues, and Caitlin Domingues. Music will be provided by Valerie Andrus.

Mrs. Prejean was a native of Grand Prairie and life-long resident of Washington. She died on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a very devoted Catholic. She read prayer books and prayed daily.

Mourning her death yet cherishing his memories are three daughters: JoAnn Leger and husband, Dallas of Washington; Pat Quirk and husband, James of Erath; and Debrah Faye Prejean of Opelousas; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Prejean; her parents: Murray Deville, Sr. and Rita LeFleur; one brother, Murray Deville, Jr.; and two sisters: Hilda Sebastien and Rose Billedeaux.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Leger, James Quirk, Timothy Quirk, Thomas Quirk, David Speyrer, and Ross Ledoux.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. noon until 10: p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
